Good morning yall! Yup, you guessed it I'm such a Georgia Peach. I think 'yall' might be one of my favorite words! Ha... Anyway, getting engaged has to be one of my fondest memories alongside planning for my big day.  I remember it like it was yesterday, I won't say how long ago, but just know it's been a while.

Picking the right wedding party might not be as easy as you think, so I want to help make the process a little easier for you.  Here are a few things to consider or ponder when selecting your entourage or 'squad' I think that's one of 2016 latest terms for wedding party.

1.  Responsibilities: I would probably say that for me this is the number one factor in selecting your bridal party.  Making sure that you pick someone who can not only handle all the responsibilities that comes along with the position, but someone who actually wants to do it.

2.  Siblings: For most this is a given and they really don't have a choice, but think about asking your siblings.  They generally don't have any hidden animosity towards you or secret jealously.  I'd like to think that anyone you invite or ask to be a part of your wedding wouldn't feel 'a certain type of way' about you, but let's face it not everyone wants to celebrate your happiness or wishes you well. Some people are really great at pretending.

3.  Size Does Not Matter:  In this case size does not matter. At least that's my opinion.  Having as many or as little wedding party members is totally up to you.  While I say it doesn't matter my preference was to have an average sized party.  Given though at the time of selection I had no clue where I wanted to hold my wedding I didn't want to over crowd the alter.  I wanted the focus to be on my husband and myself and not my gigantic wedding party.  Sometimes less is more.

4.  Kiddies: Okay, so we all know how cute and adorable most kids can be while others sometimes can be little terrors. I mean, if we're being honest here we all know they aren't always 100% perfect all the time.  So, really think twice about the children you ask to be in your wedding party.  Smaller children usually have really short attention spans and depending on how long {factor tradition} of a ceremony you have this could either be an opportunity for the little tike to steal the show in more ways than you'd probably want.

Will you have small or large wedding party?  Have you given it any thought yet? I know, I know he just put a ring on it and you need time to process that! Oh, next week will go over some ideas and ways you can ask your bridal party to be in the wedding. So be sure to come back!
